Hey Lou,
I have Sirius in both cars and at home. Was so glad to hear they signed you on. Disorder is one of my favorite stations, it is perfect for you!
Here are a few Requests/Suggestions :
The Robins : Smokey Joe's Cafe'
Luna : Ride Into The Sun
The Belmonts - I've had it
Laurie Anderson & Lou Reed : Gentle Breeze
John Cale : Venus In furs (from Circus Live album)
Blind Boys Of Alabama : Amazing Grace
Lou Reed : Like A Possum (9/12/04 Italy ... have the show on cd if you need it)
leonard Cohen : Tower Of Song
Antony & The Johnsons : Fistful of Love
In a interview you had mentioned that Ornette Coleman had come in and done about 10 different versions of Guilty and you would love to find a way to have people hear them in the future. Wouldn't this show be the perfect way to share them??? please , please, Please?
Also since it is Satellite ... you just have to play your song Motherfucker PartII someday.
Thanks,
Ben -

Lou! You say Last Town Chorus is from Brooklyn.
That is a sign! You should record with them. I think it would be awesome.
After hearing them on your radio show I checked them out a bit more. Very solid. Frontman (front woman?) Megan Hickey is talented and has a great understated and charming stage presence.
So yes yes, please record with these people. Love your collaborations!
Also.. great job and great playlists from the radio show! -

OMG Lou your doing media ARGHHHHHHHHHH fantastic, you have to come and do that more come to the UK do more than music do some premier late night talk shows, its crazy that people don't know you exist sooooo anyway I hope to catch that in some form now I've been a huge fan my whole early teens till early adult life music means more than I can express so I really wanted some of your stuff of course (some of the more obscure, the gems that get forgotten about) and having heard your stuff I've been influenced to suggest these tracks.
This Side Of The Blue- Joanna Newsom
I Will Never Love You More- Soko (she loves you)
Martial Law - yourself (the live version much better)
Yesterdays Muse - Laptop ( hard to find. This Guy Jesse Hartman your in his lyrics (funky assed jew) seemed like he had management and was set to explode then nothing something about a film then a crashed website.
Space Walk - Lemon Jelly
Whats Good and Warrior King
I just want to celebrate- Rare Earth
Breathe Me - Sia
Anthem- Leonard Cohen
JCB - Nizlopi
Well the really good ones won't come to my mind sooooo I hope I can tune in. I hope you do a call in sometime cause I can sing just like you and also antony hegarty maybee leanard cohen also. LOVE YOU LOADS!!! ASH -

This site and the move to radio, naturally, as you have always had a finger on the pulse... I'll be tuning in, paying attention -- I've recently been getting excited about some of the old John Giorno System recordings, with early sound work from Laurie, Patti Smith, Cage and so many others. It would be great to hear this on the show, mixed in with some better known material. UBUweb has a great archive of rare work from that era. Kudos on all the new work! -

I think Lou and Hal might like to play Jeffrey Lewis ( Jeffrey and Jack Lewis, Jeffrey Lewis and the Jitters) for Americans as he is mostly well known in the UK and Europe, and the US is missing out.
A son of New York's Lower East Side, he has been called the best lyricist alive today, a god, and is a huge Lou Reed appreciator.
Try "The Last Time I Took Acid I Went Insane" or "The Chelsea Hotel Oral Sex Song" from the Rough Trade CD "The Last Time I Took Acid I Went Insane"
Or: "If You Shoot the Head You Kill the Ghoul" from "I's the Ones Who've Cracked that the Light Shines Through"
Or: I Ain't Thick from 12 Crass songs ( regular radio can't play it)
Or "Williamsburgh Will Oldham Horror" or "Don't Get Upset" from City and Eastern Songs
Or: I Ain't Thick, it's Just a Trick from 12 Crass Songs.
Most spectacular of all: "A History of Punk on the Lower East Side" which includes, of course,
a few of Jeff's impressions of Lou and the Velvets--I'm Waiting for My Man. -

Nice concert last night in Stockholm, Sweden. Interesting to see how you tried to work yourself into the concert, fighting to find the focuss and energy lacking, by streching out the songs in order to find openings. Somewhere. Somehow. And I know that feeling. I've battled my way through concerts throughout the years as an artist myself, when initial energy and focuss of a tour have been lost. I know that feeling. Takes one to know one. And when you finally hit that special note that resonates to the inarticulate note inside of your head, you tend to cling to it like an invocation rather than a mantra. Been there, know the feeling.
So, I'm a longtimer. Picked up VU feat Nico at the time of the Andy Warhol exhibition in Stockholm 1969 at the age of 14 and have enjoyed your career ever since. Have seen every show in Sweden since the Concerthouse back in 1973. I was 18 at the time. And you may remember I was the only journalist granted an interview with you in Sweden, during the New Sensations-tour when you played the large Icehockey Arena in Stockholm.
I guess most of your longtime fans in the US (and in Europe) would appreciate a bit of swedish band Leather Nun on the show. Mick Rock did the promovisuals for their US-tour back in '88 and Mick Ronson produced one of their albums (actually the one he was recording when informed about the Big C in the pancreas).
Best of luck for the remaining dates on the tour and say Hello to Laurie, whom I interviewed on her Big Science-tour in Sweden some 25 yrs ago. Great artist. -

Hey Lou...
Decided to check your radio show on Sirius but unfortunately I'm a MAC user and since Sirius radio is only available online using Microsuck's shitty excuse for a music play I can't listen on my MAC.
In fact, Microsuck's shittiness extends to their own OS. Seems Windows Media Player doesn't like Firefox and will not properly load the player to allow me to listen through my browser using Parallels Visualization software.
Maybe you could suggest to the suits at Sirius that perhaps an open-source and MAC compatible online feed just MIGHT increase subscriptions.
Cool.

I changed the lyrics of Satellite of love to describe the phases of the moon for my science students. Maybe you could sing it!
http://cdbaby.com/mp3lofi/willybanta-30.m3u
Satellite lit up there in space turning so we just see your face
the other side we never see you’ve got a dark side just like me
Satellite above lit up by the sun satellite above can you see me?
Satellite goes through every phase orbiting in 28 days
New moons are when your face is dark Full moons- you’re bright as you can be
Satellite above lit up by the sun satellite above can you hear me?
New Moon, Crescent, First Quarter Gibbous waxing till Full
Waning Gibbous, Third Quarter Waning Crescent then New
Meteors hit the moon everywhere it’s hard to find peace anywhere
You don’t belong to anyone You’re shared by all humanity
Satellite above lit up by the sun satellite above will you miss me? -
